This module will introduce the basic concepts underlying systems analysis and design, focusing on contextual inquiry/design and data modeling, as well as the application of those analytical techniques in the analysis and design of organizational information systems Furthermore, systems analysis and design is used to implement improvements in the support of users and the functioning of businesses that can be accomplished through the use of computerized information systems.

The module explores the design, development and implementation of database systems.  Participants will gain a practical understanding as well as hands-on experience of database management as well as an appreciation of the policies, options and considerations pertaining to modern database operations. The module is relevant to anyone interested in the secure storage, usage and lifecycle-management of data and information in modern organizations.
